I started my design business around 9 months ago and since then I have been so blessed to work with amazing, passionate creatives on designing their brands and websites. Today, I am excited to share my recent work for Agent Athletica, a popular fitness and active lifestyle blog written by Suzanne. When Suzanne reached out to me in January, one of the first things she mentioned was that there weren’t many blogs in her niche. And to me, that was a total plus point. There weren’t a lot of blogs that did exactly what she did and it was an exciting challenge to design her brand as I could experiment a lot with the creative direction but also had to do it in a responsible way!
Before we started with the design process, I sent a branding questionnaire to Suzanne. One of the questions in the questionnaire that was key to my entire process was the 5 main adjectives that she would use to describe her brand. I loved the words she came up with:
Balanced, Vivacious, Polished, Intelligent, Professional yet approachable.
From there I created a mood board to guide the entire branding process. Suzanne put together a beautiful Pinterest board from which I pulled out inspiration for the mood board. I took note of similarities between the pictures she pinned in terms of colors, patterns and overall vibe. I saw a lot of geometric patterns, hues of blue and very fresh vibes which I used a lot throughout her brand design. Here’s the moodboard:
One of the words that struck me a lot as I moved on to designing her logo was geometry. Suzanne’s personal style has a lot of stripes and geometric designs which I wanted to reflect in the brand. Also as I looked through her content and Instagram feed, I saw that she absolutely loved hiking in the mountains and being outdoors which was major driving factor for her content and brand. I started sketching out different options on paper to get my ideas out. After I was satisfied, I digitized my sketches and created the icons in Adobe Illustrator. Here are few of the different logo options I came up with for her brand:
Suzanne decided to go with the first option and I thought it was perfect. The snow capped mountain perfectly combined the letter A, geometry and and her love for hiking. For the name, I chose a very geometric font called Intro to go with the balanced theme of the brand.
Font and Color palette:
Based on the freshness of her moodboard, I picked out hues of blue, green and ash purple for her color palette. For fonts, we choose Brandon grotesque which is a beautiful, geometric sans-serif font and for the body copy, we went with Georgia, a very easy to read, serif font.

Blog post templates:
I came up with two blog post templates for Suzanne’s content, one with a background image and one without. Here’s how they turned out.
I kept the business card simple and straightforward to highlight the logo.
Suzanne works with a lot of fitness and fashion brands through her website and so I created a media kit to include her brand details, stats and demographics for potential collaborations.
Website design and development:
Once we had the brand design out of the way, we moved to designing her website. I created wireframes and mockups for each page on Adobe Illustrator to guide the website development process.
Once Suzanne gave a go on the mockups, I started coding the website on WordPress. Since Suzanne has a wealth of content in her archives, we laid a lot of emphasis on easy user navigation and content access. Here are my favorite features of her website:
- Grid archives for category and archive pages
- Stocky navigation and social media menu
- Special reviews gallery for easy content access
- Category icons on the sidebar
