Why do you need to use Loom?

Makes communication 10x faster & easier:

How many times have you sat in front of your screen, staring at it, not knowing how to effectively put your thoughts into words? Let’s be honest. It is just hard to put a few things in words. Plus, it takes a long time to write down all your thoughts when compared to talking out loud, isn't it? For example, when you are trying to put together a collaboration idea, it is just easier and quicker to talk to your peers about your ideas than writing a long email. Right?

Makes the emotional side of communication stress-free:

I don’t know about you, but the use of emotions is a bit tricky for me. Some people use it and some people don’t. The people who do use it - sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t. Using emoticons makes it easier to gauge the emotions behind the email easier. But it is hard to know what to expect when you are interacting with someone for the first time, especially in business. But when you use video, it's far easier to express the emotions behind your thoughts through your voice and tone. Whether you want to sound excited, professional, friendly or firm - you can choose to communicate that through your video responses. Not just that, videos also help create familiarity, trust, and deeper relationships.

3 ways to use Loom for your business:

1. Breezy client communication:

I think by far my most favorite way of using Loom is interacting with clients. Most times, it's easier to explain logo concepts, typography decisions or website layouts by walking them through it on video. It not only helps me showcase the visuals but also helps me share my reasoning behind the design decisions. Explaining such things via text takes a far longer time and is harder than just quickly recording a video for it. Also, for example, when a client has questions about how to do a certain thing in their Squarespace or Wordpress website, it's easier to record a quick screen tutorial showing them how to do it.

2. Product management:

If you create products, you can create quick video tutorials to teach your customers how to use your product. For example, I have an Intro video in my iPhone-o-graphy course where I teach my students how to navigate the backend of the course website. Such tutorials are super easy and quick to record with Loom.

3. Training your team:

If you work with a team, a video is the best way to train your team effectively. For example, I can easily record my process for formatting a blog post on video for my virtual assistant to refer to. It is easy, effective, and also helps increase the retention of whatever skill/knowledge you share.
